funnels-and-pipelines

title: "Funnels & Pipelines"

Step 1: Choose a goal

  • Instruction: Decide the primary outcome for the funnel (lead capture, booked call, or a purchase).
  • Expected: The funnel is planned with a single primary conversion goal.
  • Why it matters: Clear goals enable focused messaging and accurate measurement.
  • Troubleshooting: If you have multiple goals, split them into separate funnels.

Step 2: Create a funnel from a template

  • Instruction: Go to Funnels → Create New and pick a template matching your goal.
  • Expected: A draft funnel is created with pages and a default form.
  • Why it matters: Templates speed up build time with standard tracking and layout.
  • Troubleshooting: If a template doesn’t suit you, start with a blank funnel and add pages.

Step 3: Customize the page and CTA

  • Instruction: Edit the hero, benefits, and CTA; keep the form short to improve completion.
  • Expected: The page shows tailored copy and a single clear CTA.
  • Why it matters: Simplicity increases conversion rates.
  • Troubleshooting: If conversions are low, test headline and CTA variations.

Step 4: Connect the form to a pipeline

  • Instruction: In funnel settings, map form submissions to your CRM pipeline and select the default entry stage.
  • Expected: New submissions create contacts in the selected pipeline stage.
  • Why it matters: Accurate mapping ensures leads are routed to the correct workflow.
  • Troubleshooting: If contacts don’t appear, check form field mappings and CRM integration status.

Step 5: Automate next steps

  • Instruction: Add an automation that triggers on form submission to send a welcome email and assign tags or tasks.
  • Expected: Automation triggers for new leads and actions execute as configured.
  • Why it matters: Automation ensures timely outreach and reduces manual work.
  • Troubleshooting: Test automations with a sample contact to confirm behavior.

Step 6: Test and publish

  • Instruction: Publish the funnel and submit a test lead; verify the contact appears in the pipeline and automations run.
  • Expected: End-to-end flow works: funnel → CRM → automation.
  • Why it matters: Testing catches integration and mapping issues early.
  • Troubleshooting: Use browser devtools to debug form submissions and network calls.

What success looks like

  • A live funnel with working form submissions that create contacts in the pipeline and trigger automations.
